La Vuelta Ciclista a Espana 2024 – Stage 3 Preview

Another stage in Portugal and another sprint.

Route

Slowly making their way east towards Spain.

Finale

Filled with roundabouts.

Weather

Sunny and not too windy.

Contenders

Wout van Aert – I’d imagine the team will support him in the finale but he is very capable to do it on his own. He does not have a designated lead-out man, but Affini seems to do the job quite well

Kaden Groves – it will be Alpecin-Deceuninck that do the hard work tomorrow. I don’t see many experienced lead-out men. He won yesterday, and he should be difficult to beat again today.

Corbin Strong – a tough stage is good for him, I just don’t think he has the top speed to win here. The stage is easier and the dies bot enhance his chances.

Arne Marit – another lone sprinter it seems. He likely won’t get a lot of help, and he rarely wins.

Pavel Bittner – took two stage wins in Burgos. 6th yesterday was a fine result

Bryan Coquard – consistent. Top-10.

Who will win the stage?

I will go for Wout van Aert again.
