O Gran Camino 2023 – Stage 4 (ITT)

In Galicia the last stage consists of a hilly time trial.

Route

Close to 350 climbing meters. The longest of the climb are the one in the middle of the TT, it is 2 km at 5.9%. It is not that simple – not a lot of long flat straights. It suits the TT climbers more than the specialists.

Worth noting is the first 8 km has a lot of downhill. It is more or less flat until the climbs at the second part of the TT. I think that is the most decisive section.

Weather

Mostly a headwind TT. Cloudy but no rain on the forecast.

Contenders

Vingegaard – just in his own league here. I simply can’t see anyone beating him.

To fight for the podium are Haga, Kruijkswijk, I. Izagirre (if he starts and is well, some crash today) and Geschke.

Who will win?

A hattrick for Vingegaard.
