It is not often anymore we get to see prologues anymore which I think is a shame. It is often very small margins that separate the winner from the rest, which always makes for a thrilling feeling whenever the favorites cross the line. We have a very flat prologue, 28 climbing meters, never exceeding more than 1.6% gradient.
A fairly simple route. Full gas and the roadbook suggests an 8.33 time with 50 km/h. That is indeed a short period of time.
Weather is always one of the more important factors for TTs as you can either have an advantage or a disadvantage. We have the first rider down the ramp at 14:15 and the last at 16:35. By the looks of it, everyone will have the exact same conditions.
Ganna – I mean, who can defeat him?
Ilan van Wilder will look to score a podium placement.
Alaphillipe – see above.
Latour rode well in Besseges. He knows this is the stage to take a few seconds on his rivals in order to finish high in the GC.
Hayter is extremely good against the clock. It will be interesting to see if he has taken another step up this winter.
Who will win?
I doubt anyone can beat him tomorrow.
